This blog entry is actually what I’ve learned from our pastor in our school.
There are 2 things (actually it’s 3 but I’ll explain only 2) that we need to remember before saying “I love you” to a boy or a girl. First is to consider God; who is He to you? Remember that God is love. He gave all the things in the world even your loved ones. He gives you love. If you want to love and be loved by a girl or a boy, you must ask God if he is the right guy/girl for you. Remember that God loves you and He doesn’t want your heart to be broken and I know that you don’t also want your heart to be broken. To all the boys, respect is what all the girls need. Remember to think first before courting a girl. If you love her, think that she will be your bride for the future – your last and the perfect girl God has given you. There is no perfect guy or girl. But there is a perfect girl/guy God reserved for you. All of us are not perfect but the guy/girl that God has reserved for us is the one that will complete our needs. If you want to have a successful relationship, a relationship that will not change you into a bad one, trust God and ask for His guidance.
Second is to consider him/her. Who is he/she to you? I mentioned this in the first one but I’ll explain it elaborately to you. Love should make you a better person not a bitter person. Think who you are when you are with him/her. Did you change but in a positive way or a negative way? If it is in a good way and you've trusted God, His plan for you has finally happened. You've finally met the right guy/girl for you. If you’ve changed in a negative way, something is wrong. Remember that you’re relationship should lead you in a good path. You’re in a wrong path if you lie to your parents, cut classes for your boyfriend/girlfriend, pre-marital sex etc. Your girlfriend/boyfriend must lead you near to God not far from God. If you want you’re boyfriend/girlfriend to be your last, just follow God. Don’t follow what your heart desires like other people said. Follow you heart when you know God is in it. The very important thing that couples must remember is to trust God, believe in Him and Pray.
I just wanted to share what I’ve learned for the couples and to the people who are in love because I’ve noticed that there are so many break ups and early pregnancies nowadays. I didn’t explain all what our pastor explained. I just summarized it. But I hope it can help others.
With all your heart, you must trust the Lord and not your own judgment. Always let Him lead you, and He will clear the road for you to follow. Don't ever think that you are wise enough, but respect the Lord and stay away from evil. This will make you healthy, and you will feel strong. (Proverbs 3:5-8)
Out of your heart come evil thoughts, vulgar deeds, stealing, murder, unfaithfulness in marriage, greed, meanness, deceit, indecency,envy, insult, pride and foolishness. (Mark 7:21-22)
