There are many Chinese inventions that are used today. They really helped us a lot. Chinese inventions include compass, kite, seismograph, stirrups and umbrella. Compass and umbrella are the common things that we usually use. Explorers use compass to help them not get lost easily. Umbrella is a very useful tool that Chinese invented. We all know that it protects us from direct sunlight and rain. Seismograph records the ground movements like earthquakes and other Earth-shaking movements. Stirrup helps the rider to stay in the saddle while riding in horses. Chinese discoveries include bronze age discoveries. Bronze age is the time when the Chinese learned how to make weapons from bronze.

The influence of Chinese dances

Chinese dances like Dragon dance and Lion dance influenced Asia including the Philippines. These dances are the traditions of China. During Chinese new year, I usually see many Dragon and Lion dances especially in China town in Binondo, Manila. I love watching them because they are very cute.

Modern day Bayanihan

Before, Bayanihan is helping a family to move to another place by carrying their house. Now, it is a term that can be done by anyone without carrying a house. Helping our countrymen voluntarily is called Bayanihan.

Vietnamese are vegetarian because they are influenced by Buddhist and Chinese values. Some of their food are influenced by Chinese. French also influenced Vietnam cuisine. The use of baguettes in Vietnamese meals are influenced by French.

Marriages in Asian family

Arranged marriage is a usual marriage in South Asia,East Asia, Africa, Middle East and Europe. The parents will choose the spouse of their daughter/son. Parents will find a suitable spouse that can earn a living for his/her family. Their child has no rights to complain about his/her fiance. Because of this, I consider arrange marriage as forced marriage.
