Otaku Reacts: Parasyte -The Maxim-/Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu

I've been thinking for a long while. For what purpose was I born into this world? Whenever I resolved one question, another would arise in its place. I sought the beginning, I sought the end, I've just been walking and walking, thinking all the while. Perhaps nothing will change, no matter how far I go. If I'm to stop my journey, that is fine, too. Even if I were informed that everything has reached its end, I'd just accept it. But even so, I found an aswer to yet another of my questions today. Shinichi, this child. In the end, I didn't do anything to it. The child is a normal human being. Raise the child by human hands to lead a normal life. - Ryoko Tamiya
This is one of my favorite lines in the series. I never thought that Parasyte has a little bit of drama. I thought it was full of action. But it's okay. It's more than okay. It didn't even disappoint me. It has the right drama to fill up an action series. Ryoka Tamiya is one of my favorite characters. She is a strong parasite but as the series continues, she developed feelings like humans have (Note: Parasites don't have feelings and names lol). She has a *toot toot toot*. Spoiler alert.

Parasyte: The Maxim is a manga made in 1988 and the anime series was released only last year, October 2014 and was finished this year, March 2015. I actually watched it I think last month and it just came up to my mind that I want to make a review about it hahaha. It surprised me! I was searching for its manga then I found some pictures of it. Then, I asked myself, "Why do the pictures seem so old?" Then I found out that the manga was made in 1988. I was still non-existent back then lol. The question is: Why did they only release an anime just now?

Shinichi Izumi is the main character in the series. One night, a parasite wants to take over his brain through his ear while he is sleeping. But apparently, the parasite can't because he had his earphones on. So the parasite decided to enter his body through his right arm. Shinichi called him Migi or right hand. Since the parasite, Migi, took over only his hand, Shinichi still has his human mind. Parasites are worm-like creatures but when they enter into someone's body, they become powerful with blades that can kill humans and other parasites. When they take over someone's brain, their eyes become weird and they're not in their normal self anymore. They are really parasites. They rely on human body but gives nothing in return. Parasites want brains to control humans and live a normal life like humans do, but some parasites eat a lot of brains and are becoming a problem causing many casualties. Investigators are beginning to eliminate them and that includes Shinichi 'coz he's also a parasite living with a human mind ... and the battle continues between humans and parasites HAHAHA.

If you're wondering why Migi doesn't harm Shinichi, well that's because he has no desire to kill humans. Parasites can live without harming humans. I don't know why some parasites kill humans. Maybe because they want to conquer the world hahaha. Anyway, Migi just wants to survive. He has no emotions like other parasites but also develops emotions like Ryoka Tamiya.

When I watched the first episodes, I find it fun to watch. The bloody scenes, the fighting scenes, the romance (yes, it has romance) and the unique features of the parasite-slash-alien-slash-worm creatures make me loyal to the series. It will give you the feeling, "It's a cliff hanger. I need to watch the next episode." It will let you never leave your seat. It has 24 episodes but it feels like it only has 13 episodes. You will not notice that you already finished the series. If you're a fan of action, sci-fi and a little bit of drama, you'll definitely love it! :)

P.S. It also has live action moviesss! It is also said that it will have season 2. I don't know if it's true but I'm really looking forward to it.
